The Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) hosted its third annual Sustainable Innovation Series event titled 'Nature & Motorsport' in Valencia, Spain. The event focused on how sport stakeholders can promote and preserve biodiversity for the future. Over the course of the two-hour session, Sky News UK presenter and sustainability champion David Garrido welcomed eleven speakers from the worlds of sport and sustainability. The event highlighted the importance of associating major sport events with platforms for discussions on innovation, technology, and sustainability.

The event featured engaging conversations, fireside chats, and keynotes with leading voices from sport and sustainability, including Programme Leader for Sports for Nature at IUCN Meredith McCurdy. McCurdy presented the Sports for Nature Framework, which guides sport organizations worldwide in reducing their impact on nature. The framework emphasizes the role of nature as a playground, provider, and protector, supporting human life and activity while helping to tackle some of the impacts of climate change. The FIA committed to tackling the triple planetary crisis and signed the IUCN's Sport for Nature framework during the event.

By hosting the 'Nature & Motorsport' event, the FIA aims to drive sustainability across various geographies and communities. The event underscores the FIA's commitment to promoting biodiversity and reducing the environmental impact of motor sport. The series serves as a platform for sharing learnings, developments, and opportunities for sustainability in motor sport and mobility worldwide. The FIA's efforts align with global initiatives to protect and preserve biodiversity for future generations.
