KLM's Fly Responsibly Invites People to Reduce Their Footprint
Laura McQuarrie — July 3, 2019With Fly Responsibly, KLM is committing to doing its part for a sustainable future for aviation—all the while encouraging consumers and the industry as a whole to follow suit. The airline itself uses sustainable fuel to reduce emissions and will soon be opening the first sustainable fuel plant in the Netherlands with SkyNRG.
KLM's Fly Responsibly asks people to carefully consider their travel plans and even suggests trains or other modes of transportation if suitable for traveling short distances. As a supporter of sustainable modes of transportation, KLM asks: "Do you know that flying from Amsterdam to Brussels takes longer than going by train?"
If flying is necessary, KLM invites consumers to reduce their carbon footprint with its CO2ZERO compensation service, which helps to support tree planting initiatives in Panama.
