Stella McCartney's BioSequin jumpsuit is the first garment of its kind to be made with plastic-free, plant-based sequins and it recently made its debut on the cover of American Vogue, modeled by Cara Delevigne. The next-gen sequins were created by material innovation company Radiant Matter, which uses plant-based cellulose as a sustainable, biodegradable alternative to plastic that's free of synthetic pigments and colorants.

Although this garment is not yet commercially available, this jumpsuit offers a look at a sustainable adornment that has the potential to make the future of fashion more sustainable. With millions of garments ending up in the landfill and microplastics ending up in the world's waterways as a result, there's the need fore more sustainable solutions like BioSequins.
