Ahead of World Water Day, Amref Health Africa is working alongside visual artists Hugo McCloud, Shantell Martin, Patrick Martinez, and Amy Amalia to raise funds and awareness for its water and sanitation programs, while also celebrating the work of contemporary Black artists. One of the biggest challenges in Africa's public health sector is access to safe water and sanitation. Millions of people live in danger due to the worst drought seen in the horn of Africa in over four decades.

The talented artists each transformed a 44 oz. water pitcher into a design that was uniquely their own for the Benefit Water Pitcher. From a water pitcher/flower vase, this pitcher becomes a stunning piece of modern art. The pitchers were created in partnership with ARTNOIR Co-Founder, Nadia Nascimento.

"Working alongside Amref Health Africa on this project has been really special and a wonderful way to begin the year. I'm so honored that my art can be used to empower communities and strengthen health systems, especially for the support of women and children across the Globe and in Africa," said visual artist Shantell Martin.

The purchase of the pitchers—each piece of art priced at $165 (plus shipping) and in a limited edition of 150 per artist—will help fund clean water and proper sanitation to families in need across Africa.
