An Orland Town's Recycling Program Repurposes Refurbished Electronics

The Lt. Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. School for Exceptional Children in Tinley Park has launched a new recycling program dedicated to repurposing old electronics for the benefit of school-age students. The tablets, laptops, and computer monitors employed by the students were obtained through the collective efforts of the Orland Township Highway Department and the electronics recycling center located on Wolf Road in Orland Park.

By acquiring these devices, students have been empowered to dedicate more time and effort to the in-depth exploration of potential careers, the development of compelling resumes, and the active engagement in interactive lessons conducted by their teachers.

The center serves as a reliable avenue for residents seeking to safely dispose of their unwanted electronics. This endeavor not only supports the academic growth of students but also fosters a collaborative partnership between public entities and private enterprises, ultimately enriching the educational environment within the community.
