Upcycled Coffee Ground Liqueurs

The Realizzato coffee liqueur has been launched by Murray & Yeatman in the UK as a sustainable, eco-friendly alcohol product crafted from an unexpected ingredient: used coffee grounds. The product is based on more than a decade's worth of research and is achieved by utilized a method that distills alcohol from used coffee grounds for an ultra-sustainable profile. Featuring a 20% ABV, the liqueur is reported to have notes of caramel and dark chocolate in the mix to make it perfect for sipping on its own, in Irish coffees or espresso martinis.

CEO of Murray & Yeatman Rob Murray spoke on the Realizzato coffee liqueur saying, "With Realizzato, we’ve developed a solution that tackles both problems. The creation of the first fermentation process in more than 400 years took significant resources, but as innovative distillers, we’ve created a premium product that not only delivers on quality but also provides a meaningful environmental solution.
