The L'Oréal Product Impact Labeling is an educational initiative by the brand to help provide consumers with ample information related to how a product affects the environment.

The labeling system gives products a ranking ranging from A to E, which is decided using a series of 14 planetary impact factors. These include greenhouse gas emissions, ocean acidification, water scarcity and impact on biodiversity. The brand is launching the system alongside a series of findings sourced from a survey taken with Morning Consult.

Chief Sustainability Officer for North America Marissa Pagnani McGowan spoke on the L'Oréal Product Impact Labeling saying, "L'Oréal’s Product Impact Labeling system is a core component of the L'Oréal for the Future program, which outlines our sustainability commitments for 2030. Its rollout in the United States has the power to help change consumer behavior and, therefore, accelerate the beauty industry’s progress toward greater sustainability."
