The Maawa X pop-up shelter is a design solution for emergency or refugee situations. The concept can also be adapted to help with urban housing crises, especially in cases when homeless shelters are full. The patent-pending design is impressive in its versatility and performance. Designed with portability in mind, the pop-up shelter can be compressed into a suitcase. When unfolded, the structure expands to 3.5 cubed meters and it can accommodate one to two people.

No tools are necessary for the assembly of this pop-up shelter. This adds another layer of convenience and efficiency. The Maawa X is totally reusable and weighs 16.7 kilograms. The body of the house is made from cardboard, which is recyclable, but the shelter also includes solar panels for protection and energy.
