Amazon recently announces that it will be funding the first commercial-scale ocean seaweed farm that is located between the company's offshore wind turbines. This is to expand the plant's cultivation and aims to aid the planet's ongoing first against climate change. The idea is to reduce millions of tonnes of annual carbon dioxide and the project is managed by a group of scientific researchers and partners in the industry.

It is led by North Sea Farners and could begin by the end of the year. Zak Watts, the Director of EU Sustainability at Amazon speaks about the project, he notes that “Seaweed could be a key tool in removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, yet it’s currently farmed at a relatively small scale in Europe. We’re delighted to fund this project to help us reach a greater understanding of its ability to help fight climate change.”
