Reduce, Reuse, Recycle AND REMOVE

KOTUG and Jansma Shipping have partnered with the ofi group to implement a sustainable cocoa transportation initiative in the Netherlands. This project introduces an "electric E-Pusher and barge system to transport ofi’s cocoa products between its facility at Koog aan de Zaan and the Port of Amsterdam." The collaboration is part of ofi’s efforts to improve the efficiency and sustainability of its logistics operations.

The E-Pusher, developed by KOTUG, features advanced propulsion technology designed to reduce emissions and noise during transport. Additionally, the "retrofit push barges, converted by Jansma Shipyard from diesel vessels, help to extend the lifespan of the barges while contributing to a circular economy."

This initiative reflects a shared commitment to sustainability and serves as an example of the potential for greener energy solutions in inland shipping.
