Jacobi Group has invested in sustainable coconut shell charcoal production as part of its broader "Go Green" initiative. This initiative aims to replace products based on coal and other fossil fuels with renewable raw materials. By focusing on coconut shell charcoal, Jacobi Group seeks to reduce its global warming potential (GWP) and improve the sustainability of its supply chain. The company has introduced new coconut-based products and developed hybrid products to replace coal-based carbons in applications where coconut carbon alone is not yet viable.

The production process involves burning coconut shells to create charcoal, which is then crushed and activated to produce high-quality activated carbon. Jacobi Group uses GreenEco furnaces to ensure no heat energy is wasted and that any emitted gases are burned off, minimizing environmental impact. The company's efforts extend to improving reactivation facilities in Europe, allowing customers to recycle spent media rather than using virgin carbon repeatedly. This comprehensive approach underscores Jacobi Group's commitment to sustainability and reducing its environmental footprint.
