Carbon-Negative Bracelets

Solving global warming takes more than just trees

NEGATIVE is the name of a new eco jewelry piece on Kickstarter that's made with captured atmospheric carbon, simultaneously helping to remove carbon emissions from the atmosphere and acting as a symbol of the climate crisis. Each dark bracelet is made from a blend of clay, natural fibers and carbon dioxide that's been captured and converted into a solid form, which the creators of Negative describes as being produced "out of thin air."

The carbon used in the making of each bracelet comes from Carbon Upcycling Technologies, a finalist in the Carbon XPRIZE global competition to transform CO2 into usable products. To scale up its impact, Negative is aiming to prove that there's consumer demand for even more carbon-negative products by becoming a buyer of Direct Air Capture carbon.
