Oklo Designs the Aurora Home with a Clean A-Frame
Amy Duong — October 30, 2024References: oklo
Oklo Inc is transforming the way that users understand nuclear energy with a new Aurota microreactor using recycled nuclear fuel, concealed discreetly at the Aurora Home. The home is crafted with what the team refers to as a 'fire-and-forget approach. It takes up a small footprint while evoking an output of 1.5 MW.
This is more than enough power to fuel 1000 homes. The house has passive safety procedures, no moving parts, and a sealed core unit. The structure also can cool and shut itself down without having to be altered by humans. The Aurora home can operate for 20 years without need for refueling. The core can be detached and replaced with another sealed core for the next batch.
