Amazon has opened a new micromobility hub in Berlin, aimed at enhancing its sustainable delivery operations. The hub, located near Alexanderplatz, will utilize e-cargo bikes from the manufacturer Mubea to deliver more than 1.5 million parcels per year across the city. This initiative is part of Amazon's €400 million investment to electrify and decarbonize its German transportation network. By reducing the reliance on traditional delivery vans, the micromobility hub is expected to alleviate traffic congestion and improve air quality in Berlin's city center.

The micromobility hub in Berlin is one of over 50 such hubs that Amazon has established across more than 40 cities in Europe. These hubs serve as central points within urban areas where packages are loaded onto sustainable delivery vehicles for the final leg of their journey. In addition to Berlin, Amazon's e-cargo bike deliveries are operational in other German cities, including Munich, Freiburg, Koblenz, Aachen, and Essen. This expansion is aligned with Amazon's broader goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2040, and the company has also invested in over 1,200 electric delivery vans and thousands of electric charging points across its facilities in Germany.
