Eco-Friendly Textile Sneakers

Allbirds is pushing the boundaries of sustainable fashion with the Remix Collection. This innovative shoe line takes leftover manufacturing waste and gives it a second life, turning scraps and discarded textiles into stylish sneakers that leave a smaller footprint on the planet.

The collection debuts with two fresh styles: the Runner NZ Remix and the Cruiser Remix. Both models showcase creative uses of recycled materials that would normally end up in landfills. To make this possible, Allbirds teamed up with two sustainability pioneers, Blumaka and Circ, who specialize in transforming waste into usable, high-quality materials.

The midsoles of the Remix shoes are created with Blumaka’s advanced recycling process, which collects foam scraps from athletic shoe production. Meanwhile, the uppers are made with an industry-first material developed by Circ. Using a hydrothermal recycling method, Circ breaks down old cotton-polyester blends and rebuilds them into soft, premium textiles. This marks the first time a fully textile-to-textile recycled fabric has been used in footwear, proving that sustainability and style can co-exist.
