'Wosh' Turns Kitchen Fat, Oil and Grease Into Natural Soap
Laura McQuarrie — August 1, 2018Student Abbie Fawcett from UWE Bristol developed 'Wosh' as a simple kitchen appliance that offers an easy way to repurpose fat, oil and grease from cooking.
Every year, millions of liters of cooking oils end up being poured down the drain, which contributes to household and city blockages, as well as flooding and pollution. Wosh takes the form of an intuitive kitchen product that helps to repurpose these ordinarily wasted materials into usable natural soap.
The simple soap-making machine is designed so that a single bar of soap can be collected every few weeks, which has the potential to replace expensive store-bought soaps in one's household. With Wosh, a filtration system removes food particles and nourishing natural soap recipes can be created with the addition of essential oils, seeds and petals.
