Upcycled Sunflower Oil Soaps
LOOP's Bar Soaps Repurpose a Fast Food Chain's Rejected Organic Oil
Laura McQuarrie — September 30, 2020Using rejected sunflower oil from a vegan fast food chain, LOOP creates fresh and fruity sunflower oil soaps that also help to repurpose imperfect produce. The soaps are offered in unique varieties like Lemon Honey, Pineapple Activated Charcoal and refreshing Cucumber Lime, which are as colorful as they are soothing and naturally fragranced. In the case of the Orange Turmeric bar soap, LOOP uses a base of upcycled sunflower oil alongside other skin-supporting ingredients like coconut oil, orange juice, beeswax and other natural extracts for scent and color.
While LOOP tackles food waste in a number of ways by making other products like cold-pressed juices, water kefir and more, the soaps set themselves apart as mindfully produced body care items.
