Bento Inc. has partnered with Too Good To Go to launch Canada's first national surplus sushi initiative. This collaboration aims to reduce food waste in grocery stores while providing consumers access to fresh, high-quality sushi at a discounted price.

Since the partnership began in August 2022, over 26,000 Bento meals have been saved from waste, preventing more than 70,000 kg of CO2 emissions. The result is a service where consumers can now purchase Bento Surprise Bags, including a selection of sushi and prepared meals nearing their best-before date. These bags often feature popular items such as Salmon Sushi Combos, California Rolls, Chicken Teriyaki Rice Bowls, and Salmon Poke Bowls.

Priced between $7.99 and $9.99, each Surprise Bag offers surplus food with a retail value ranging from $24 to $30.
