Carbon-Negative Vapes

Riot Lab's Aims to Reduce the Carbon Footprint of Vaping with the QBAR

Riot Labs Ltd. has announced the launch of the QBAR, the world's first fully recyclable, carbon-negative, bio-plastic e-cigarette. With the new sustainability-focused vape, Riot Labs aims to solve a significant problem facing the e-cigarette industry: despite its current ubiquity, the disposable vape is one of the worst consumer products for the environment.

Unlike most vapes currently on the market, the QBAR is made from PLA, a bioplastic made from corn starch, rather than fossil fuels. As a result, PLA is 75% less carbon-intensive than traditional plastic. Moreover, all of the vape's parts have been designed to be completely recyclable, including its mouthpiece, case, and battery.

In addition, the company has kicked off the Riot Recycle Scheme -- another first for the UK. The newly launched initiative aims to reduce vaping's carbon footprint in the UK by bringing together major retailers and waste management companies to create a new vape-specific recycling infrastructure.
