Stand-up paper-based pouches are the latest eco-friendly innovation from Mondi and Proquimia, replacing traditional plastic packaging for dishwashing tablets in Spain and Portugal. Made from Mondi’s re/cycle FunctionalBarrier Paper 95/5, the pouches contain over 85% paper, making them fully recyclable in existing waste streams. The resealable zipper ensures product protection and convenience, while the durable material allows for high-quality printing, enhancing shelf appeal.

Designed to reduce environmental impact, the new pouches significantly lower CO₂ emissions compared to plastic alternatives, according to Mondi’s internal product impact assessment. The kraft paper is responsibly sourced and coated to provide the necessary barrier properties, ensuring product freshness while maintaining sustainability. By integrating this production process in-house, Mondi optimizes resource efficiency and minimizes waste.

This collaboration supports Proquimia’s commitment to introducing recyclable packaging across its product range. With consumer demand rising for eco-conscious household products, the partnership reinforces both companies’ dedication to sustainability while delivering high-performance packaging solutions that balance functionality and environmental responsibility.
