Recycle-Ready Packaging Solutions

APC's Sustainable Packaging Portfolio Continues to Expand

The RE Sustainable Packaging Portfolio from American Packaging Corporation (APC) represents a significant advancement in high-performance, recyclable paper packaging. This portfolio includes new technologies designed for kerbside recyclability, offering enhanced product protection to extend shelf life, maintain flavor, and ensure freshness. In repulping tests conducted by Western Michigan University, over 85% of APC's high-performance paper packaging was successfully recovered, indicating a substantial improvement in recyclable technology. This new packaging solution provides an end-of-life alternative for traditionally non-recyclable structures such as polyethylene (PE) and PE laminates, and is compatible with both heat-seal and cold-seal packaging formats.

APC's RE Sustainable Packaging Portfolio also emphasizes sustainability by achieving a greater than 30% reduction in carbon footprint. The packaging is polyvinylidene chloride-free, grease- and aroma-resistant, and features high moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR) and oxygen transmission rate (OTR) barriers, crucial for maintaining the quality of dry goods. Suitable for stand-up and flat pouches, this technology caters to products such as seasonings, spices, coffee, snacks, and more. The portfolio was showcased at Pack Expo Chicago 2024, highlighting APC's commitment to eco-friendly initiatives and innovation in flexible packaging solutions.
