Kirkby Design introduces Aloe, "a sheer, washable, wide-width drapery fabric composed of 60% aloe vera and 40% organic cotton, offering a sustainable alternative to conventional textiles." The development of Aloe fabric reflects the brand’s commitment to environmental responsibility, combining innovative materials with high performance and visual refinement.

Aloe vera is particularly well-suited for sustainable textile production, as it requires significantly less water than traditional crops and is cultivated without the use of pesticides. Moreover, the fabric’s production process repurposes waste leaves left over from aloe vera gel extraction, a byproduct of the cosmetics industry. These discarded leaves are pressed, shredded, and transformed into a fleece-like fiber, which is subsequently spun into yarn.

This approach not only minimizes agricultural waste but also reduces the environmental footprint commonly associated with cotton-based textiles. Aloe fabric thus exemplifies a conscientious blend of eco-innovation and aesthetic quality.
