The Greenhouse Learning Center has been announced by PepsiCo-owned Frito-Lay and Quaker as a new innovation center for compostable packaging to help perform research in this space. The facility will be situated at the brand's R&D headquarters in Plano, Texas and will be part of the PepsiCo Positive (pep+0 initiative, which will see 100% of its packaging recyclable, biodegradable, compostable or reusable by 2025. The facility will field test, measure and analyze findings related to compostable packaging in hopes of expediting new solutions for the mass market.

Senior Vice President of R&D for PepsiCo Denise Lefebvre spoke on the Greenhouse Learning Center saying, "We’re actively changing our own compostable snack packaging technologies. By sharing these technologies, we’re inviting the industry to make these changes as well. We are prioritising, investing in and expediting projects to build a more circular, inclusive economy.”
