Switzerland-based company Mootral is revolutionizing the agricultural industry thanks to its cow supplements which work to minimize greenhouse gas emissions. It is a well-known fact amongst farmers that "cow burps are a big part of the reason that beef, cheese, and ice cream have large carbon footprints." When the animal belches, methane gas is released and it is estimated to be 84 times more potent than carbon dioxide.

Inside the animal's stomach, microbes who break down the ingested food are typically the culprits behind the vast production of methane. To combat this, Mootral brings together compounds from garlic and citrus since the ingredients help to reduce the microbes in the animal's stomach. As a result, "burps become less potent."
