Cosmo Specialty Chemicals has introduced its new range of Oil and Grease Resistant (OGR) barrier coatings, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional polyethylene in packaging. Designed to meet rising environmental standards, the two new coatings -- 'OGR 145B' and 'OGR 145S' -- are water-based and FDA-compliant for direct food contact.

OGR 145B is ideal for food packaging, providing superior oil and water resistance without heat-sealing capabilities. OGR 145S, tailored for paper cup manufacturing, adds heat-sealing features for enhanced paper-to-paper bonding. Both coatings boast zero VOC emissions and have passed rigorous KIT and Cobb Index tests for optimal performance.

This innovation supports industries aiming for greener manufacturing processes while maintaining high-performance standards, reflecting Cosmo’s sustainability and regulatory compliance commitment.
