Medical Waste Solutions

ClinicCycle, a new initiative by TerraCycle, provides healthcare facilities a sustainable way to manage their complex waste streams. Designed to address the industry's growing environmental challenges, ClinicCycle enables hospitals, clinics, and medical offices to recycle everyday materials such as personal protective equipment (PPE), plastic packaging, and breakroom waste that would otherwise end up in landfills or incinerators. Given that the U.S. healthcare sector generates approximately 1.7 million tons of plastic waste annually, this program represents a crucial step toward reducing the industry's environmental footprint.

The program offers Zero Waste Boxes, which can be placed in key waste-generating areas of medical facilities. Once full, the sealed boxes are shipped back to TerraCycle using a prepaid label. The collected materials are sorted, cleaned, and repurposed into raw materials for new products. By integrating this system, healthcare providers can ensure that disposable gloves, masks, dental aligners, and other medical waste are responsibly processed rather than discarded.
