Ridwell makes it easy to properly donate or dispose of recyclable and reusable items thanks to the service that picks up items straight from doorsteps. The service got its start when founder Ryan Metzger was frustrated at not being able to find a location to take used batteries. Since its start, the service has expanded to accept everything from bubble wrap, mailing shippers, clothing, scraps of fabric and cling film, so that it can be properly taken to the right place after use. All too often, items end up at the landfill because there's no convenient way to dispose of them, yet Ridwell plays a part in solving this problem.

As well as being more discerning about the products they are willing to invite into their homes, consumers are making efforts to be more conscientious of what and how they reuse and recycle.
