Pinterest Launched an Official Climate Misinformation Policy

With this policy, the social media network clearly outlines guidelines against false or misleading climate change information. This includes but is not limited to verified incorrect information, misrepresented scientific data, anti-climate change beliefs, and conspiracy theories. This policy applies across all forms of content including posted content, advertisements, and profiles.
Since its inception, Pinterest sought to cultivate a safe, trustworthy space on the internet. In the last six years alone, Pinterest has released policies against various forms of harmful content, such as cultural appropriation, political advertisements, health misinformation, and weight loss advertisements.
With Pinterest taking a stand to ensure its platform is a safe and reputable space, it is possible that other social media platforms will follow suit.
