Net-Zero Engineering Firm Commitments

AtkinsRéalis, formerly known as SNC-Lavalin, has set a target to achieve net-zero emissions by 2030. The company has already made significant progress, cutting its Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 87% since 2019. This reduction was achieved through strategic measures such as divesting from oil and gas infrastructure, optimizing energy efficiency in its buildings, and limiting business travel. AtkinsRéalis is committed to integrating sustainability into its projects and operations, with more than half of its revenues in 2022 and 2023 coming from sustainable projects like clean energy infrastructure, water sanitation, and mass transit.

To further its net-zero goals, AtkinsRéalis is focusing on transparency and continuous improvement in its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices. The company is working to better measure and manage its Scope 3 emissions, which cover business travel and upstream leased assets. AtkinsRéalis aims to lead the engineering and project management industry in achieving net-zero carbon emissions, contributing to global efforts to combat climate change and promote sustainability.
