The Wasted Wine Club works with independent winemakers and gives new life to surplus wine so that it doesn't have to go to waste.
In an attempt to control the COVID-19 outbreak, the South African government introduced a ban on alcohol sales to deter people from gathering in groups. While this ban has since ended, the ban had a devastating impact on the South African wine industry and the thousands of people who are part of it.
The Wasted Wine Club collaborated with Alex McFarlane, a young winemaker based out of the Western Cape to introduce a white blend made from Chenin Blanc and Semillon, and a red made from Cinsaut, and the first Wasted Wine Club bottlings.
