Ettore Sottssass Designs More to the Twergi Collection
Amy Duong — February 27, 2024References: design-milk & redirect.viglink
Italian brand Alessi is relaunching a pepper mill and nutcracker to the Twergi collection -- it is designed by Ettore Sottsass and it boasts a vibrant design language that captures the designer's aesthetic. It is crafted from wooden materials and was originally launched back in 1989.
This re-launch is defined by the bold tonal palette, which is something that the designer is often recognized for. It is crafted in Italy and sources the material in sustainable ways, ensuring that the wood is FSC-certified. Part of the construction method is done by hand to create smooth and precise edges before being painted with color-based paints. It is free of any solvents and safe when in contact with food.
