'Turbine Made' is ACCIONA’s latest initiative to repurpose decommissioned wind turbine blades into sustainable materials and products. Launched in Australia, the project invites local innovators to develop creative applications for recycled turbine materials, reducing waste while promoting circular economy solutions. With many wind farms aging, ACCIONA is taking proactive steps to address end-of-life turbine components in a way that supports sustainability.

Building on past successes -- such as turning blades into sneaker soles with El Ganso and integrating them into solar trackers -- ACCIONA is now seeking fresh ideas for new applications. The initiative encourages creative solutions, from playgrounds and wildlife crossings to firefighter gear and artificial reefs. Through an open call for Expressions of Interest, ACCIONA aims to collaborate with innovators to bring these ideas to life.

As wind power expands, sustainable disposal of turbine components is crucial. ACCIONA is also investing in a wind blade recycling plant in Spain, set to process 6,000 tonnes annually by 2026. Turbine Made underscores ACCIONA’s commitment to advancing the circular economy in renewable energy.
