DEVIL-DOG's 'SET' Project Explores Three Sustainability Goals
Laura McQuarrie — January 31, 2020DEVIL-DOG is working on a new project called SET, which is an acronym for three qualities of sustainable denim it will be building into its styles for Fall 2020; SET stands for: Sustainable Materials, Eco-Friendly Production Methods and Transparent Sourcing.
While DEVIL-DOG has been using sustainable materials and transparent sourcing practices for its many years in business, Sean Connelly, VP of Merchandising and Sales, says that "The new 'SET' development allows us to take it one step further, deconstructing a garment, and allowing us to look at every element and replace it with a more sustainable option." This means that generic cotton will be replaced with recycled, US Trust or BCI, or regular paper could be swapped out for jacron or recycled paper. SET will also introduce denim styles that have fewer pieces of hardware, patches and labels, or styles that can be produced in a simpler way.
