Complete PET Soda Bottles

Origin Materials has introduced the world's first carbonated soft drink (CSD) polyethylene terephthalate (PET) cap, which is the lightest of its kind ever produced commercially. This innovative cap is compatible with the widely used PCO 1881 neck finish and can be manufactured using either virgin PET or recycled PET (rPET). The design of the cap enhances recycling circularity by enabling mono-material packaging, where the entire container, including the cap, is made from PET, the most recycled plastic. This approach simplifies the recycling process and reduces the need for separating different materials, thereby improving the efficiency and effectiveness of recycling systems.

The PET cap also features a user-friendly tamper-evident design and offers superior performance compared to traditional cap materials like high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and polypropylene (PP). By using PET, less plastic is required to achieve the same performance, contributing to lightweight packaging and reduced plastic waste.
