Sulapac Unveils the New Compostable Materials for Fragrance Bottle Caps

Two variations of a bio-based material that may be used for perfume bottle caps are being introduced by Sulapac. With the new packaging option, rigid plastics can be replaced with the Sulapac Luxe and Sulapac Luxe Flex material, which provides a "high-end luxury feel, function, and look."

“Many luxury brands want their fragrance caps, for example, to convey a sense of exclusivity, and this is exactly what Sulapac can provide. In addition to the aesthetic and usability aspects, the materials have excellent processability with existing injection molding machinery,” said Sulapac CEO and co-founder Dr. Suvi Haimi.

Sulapac Luxe has garnered interest from numerous high-end cosmetic companies that want to use it with their current glass scent bottles or jars. With sustainability at the forefront of operations, businesses are actively looking for alternatives to thermoset materials as well as the standard plastics that are frequently used in cosmetic packaging.
