Plant-Based Cosmetic Packaging

Virospack and Rezemo announced a new partnership that's targeted towards transitioning cosmetic product packaging towards a more sustainable alternative. The packaging consists of a plant-based dropper cap for liquid cosmetic solutions that's made out of the new Forewood material that replaces the plastic traditionally used and is also fossil-free. The use of wood fibers and biopolymers give the dropper a much more sustainable profile, while Forewood also features certification from the PEFC.

The Virospack and Rezemo packaging partnership could help to greatly enhance cosmetic container packaging given the often hard-to-recycle nature of dropper-style dispensers. This comes as part of a larger movement in the industry towards reducing the environmental impact of cosmetics given its ever-increasing popularity.
