The KIIFB Introduces Sustainable Road Construction Methods

The Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB) has launched the new Full Depth Reclamation (FDR) road construction method, encouraging the adoption of sustainable infrastructure development methods. Full Depth Reclamation (FDR) technology revolutionizes sustainable road construction by prioritizing resource efficiency and environmental responsibility. This innovative method repurposes the existing road surface by breaking it down, mixing the loosened material with cement and stabilizers, and capping it with a durable bitumen concrete layer.

Reusing on-site materials significantly reduces the time and cost associated with traditional road construction methods, streamlining project timelines and improving overall cost efficiency. Moreover, the technique's durable results help to lower long-term maintenance expenses, making it a financially and environmentally strategic choice for infrastructure projects.
