A Kerala Start-Up Has Unveiled India's First Sustainable Bottles

A Kerala-based startup, supported by the Kerala Irrigation Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (KIIDC), is set to introduce eco-friendly organic water bottles across India. These innovative bottles, set to be branded under ‘Hilly Aqua,' aim to reduce the dependence on plastic bottles and offer a sustainable alternative for consumers.

The project took shape after Roshy Augustine, the Minister for Water Resources, expressed strong interest in a prototype developed by Green Bio Products, a startup Eight Specialist Services subsidiary. Green Bio Products will supply the raw materials for the bottles, while KIIDC will oversee the manufacturing process.

Once production begins, Kerala will become the first state in the country to launch these compostable water bottles, setting a standard for sustainability in the country's emerging eco-friendly market.
