Circular Aluminum Advancements

Meadow, a Swedish startup behind an innovative circular aluminum 'pre-fill' refill system for home and personal care products, announced a strategic partnership with aluminum giant Novelis. The collaboration brings Novelis on board as a key materials partner to boost recycled content and support Meadow’s commercial expansion. Meadow’s flagship 'MEADOW KAPSUL™' is a cartridge-based system: products like shampoo or soap are sold in pre-filled aluminum cans that slot into a reusable dispenser, replacing single-use bottles. The partnership aligns with Meadow’s vision to 'eliminate linear packaging' and deliver one of the most circular systems in the market.

Novelis’ expertise in aluminum recycling will help Meadow increase the recycled aluminum in its cartridges and scale up production. Ball Corporation (a leading can manufacturer) is also involved, supplying cans and having earlier invested in Meadow’s concept. The first MEADOW KAPSUL products are set to debut in stores in 2025, targeting major brands and retailers.
