Cambium's Carbon Smart Wood Upcycles Fallen Trees

Carbon Smart Wood, a sustainable building material created by Cambium, is made from naturally fallen trees that are upcycled rather than cut down. Recently, Cambium expanded its supply chain by acquiring Forward Forestry, a network of U.S. arborists and tree care companies that sell logs. This acquisition allows Cambium to increase its supply of fallen trees and strengthen its production of Carbon Smart Wood while adding valuable logistics expertise to its team.

Through Forward Forestry, Cambium "gains access to 80 arborist partners who help repurpose fallen trees, which might otherwise end up in landfills." By integrating these arborists into its 'Traece' supply chain software, Cambium enables tracking of each piece of wood from source to final use, offering transparency around carbon impact. This expanded network helps arborists easily connect with sawmills to transform fallen trees into sustainable materials, meeting the growing demand for eco-friendly options in construction and furniture.
