Bio-Based Resin Pouches

Accredo Packaging Debuts a Groundbreaking 100% Bio-Based Resin Pouch

Accredo Packaging, in collaboration with Fresh-Lock® closures, has unveiled a groundbreaking 100% bio-based resin pouch at Pack Expo 2024. Made entirely from sugarcane-derived resin, this innovative pouch offers a renewable alternative to traditional plastics. As such, the product helps brands reduce their environmental impact while maintaining the durability, flexibility, and shelf life of conventional packaging.

The bio-based resin pouch is designed to sequester carbon dioxide, with each pouch capturing approximately 43 grams of CO2. The pouch’s use of Braskem’s I’m Green™ biobased film, which has a verified negative carbon footprint, aligns with the growing demand for environmentally responsible packaging solutions. The inclusion of Fresh-Lock Renewables zippers, on the other hand, enhances the pouch’s practicality for granular and powdered products.

Although not compostable, the pouch provides a more eco-friendly option for industries such as food, cosmetics, and household goods.
