The Joseph P. Addabbo Family Health Center in Jamaica has recently undergone a significant remodeling project to incorporate sustainable lighting solutions. Through Con Edison's Neighborhood Program, the health center has installed energy-efficient LED lighting across approximately 16,000 square feet at its Sutphin Boulevard location and an additional 2,700 square feet at its Guy Brewer location. This initiative aims to reduce energy consumption, lower operational costs, and minimize the environmental impact of the health center's operations. The upgrades include new energy-efficient lamps, fixtures, and updated lighting control systems, which are expected to enhance the facility's overall energy efficiency and contribute to sustainability efforts in the Jamaica area.

The sustainable lighting project at the Addabbo Family Health Center is part of a broader effort to create a welcoming and environmentally responsible environment for patients and staff. The health center, which provides comprehensive medical, dental, and behavioral health services to underserved populations, has received rebates and incentives from Con Edison's non-wires solutions (NWS) initiative to support the lighting upgrades. These improvements align with the health center's commitment to providing high-quality care while promoting energy efficiency and sustainability. By adopting these innovative lighting solutions, the Addabbo Family Health Center aims to set an example for other community-based organizations in the region.
