UNESCO and Nestlé Debut a New Program Focusing on Young Entrepreneurs

UNESCO and Nestlé have joined forces to support the next generation of innovators working to strengthen the resilience and sustainability of the global food system. Through their initiative, Youth Impact: Because You Matter, they aim to identify and fund 100 young entrepreneurs with groundbreaking ideas for transforming food production and processing.

Open to applicants aged 18–30 until April 8, the program offers selected participants a US$8,500 grant, along with six months of expert-led training and mentorship. This support, provided by Nestlé in collaboration with UNESCO, is designed to equip young leaders with the knowledge and resources needed to scale their solutions effectively.

The initiative seeks innovations that make food systems more sustainable—whether through smart technologies, waste reduction strategies, or efforts to minimize water use, plastic dependency, and synthetic fertilizers.
