Fully Recycled Socks
Tore is Sockshop's First 100% Recycled Sock Brand
Laura McQuarrie — November 15, 2021Sockshop recently launched a new environmentally friendly brand by the name of Tore and it's devoted to fighting textile wastage and water consumption with its 100% recycled socks. The eco-friendly socks made from recycled fibers help to repurpose materials like recycled cotton from consumer yarn scrap waste and fabric by-products, as well as recycled polyester and polyamide from plastic bottles and recycled elastane.
Tore socks are RCS100 certified by the Textile Exchange Organisation and a pack of socks helps to save two years of drinking water, and diver 2.4 plastic water bottles and 0.6 T-shirts from landfills.
Alongside mindfully producing socks, Tore makes sure that every element used from production and packaging to distribution makes the most of recycled materials. The products are packaged with recycled paper and cornstarch plastic constructed from polylactic acid, a plastic alternative that's made from fermented plant starch.
