Co-op Honest Value 100% Recycled Kitchen Towel is Eco-Focused

Co-op Honest Value 100% Recycled Kitchen Towel is a new private label product from the retailer in the UK crafted with an eco-friendly profile in mind. The paper towels as, as their name suggests, made with 100% recycled content sourced from cardboard boxes that will reportedly help the brand to save 230-tonnes of pure pulp that's commonly used for crafting kitchen towels. The brand worked with its supplier WEPA to create the product, which boasts 70% recycled cardboard fibers with the remaining 30% coming from sorted office waste.

Technical Manager at Co-op Janet Lawrence spoke on the Co-op Honest Value 100% Recycled Kitchen Towel saying, "This product directly supports a circular recycling economy, which we champion at Co-op, helping us to achieve our sustainability goals. The clever use of cardboard fibres, which are more abundant in UK post-pandemic, is such a great message. We understand customers might be confused by the beige colouring of the kitchen towel, when they are used to white, but we want to reassure shoppers that this product has the same absorbency and quality as the previous line.”
