Researchers at Stockholm University have created an eco-friendly hair conditioner using a natural wood-based ingredient called lignin combined with coconut oil and water. They claim it works almost as well as store-bought conditioners.

Lignin in wood and bark helps the conditioner mix well with water and act as a cleansing agent. It also has natural antioxidants to keep the product fresh and provides UV protection for hair. This makes it a sustainable and effective alternative to traditional conditioners, offering both hair care benefits and environmental advantages.

“We are using the power of nature,” says Ievgen Pylypchuk at Stockholm University in Sweden. “We combine a high level of science with old traditions… [to] get something really cool: simple, useful and quite effective.”
