Recycled Trash Sunglases

Each Pair of 'RE-View' Sunglasses is Made Using Two Recycled CD or DVDs
David Ingram — August 14, 2015Help reduce waste while catching some rays with Taiwanese design company Miniwiz's new line of sunglasses made from recycled trash.
With the tagline "See Beyond Trash," these 'RE-View' sunglasses turn waste into fashion by collecting a number of post-consumer products. The frames are made from a lightweight, flexible and impact-resistant polycarbonate that uses recycled CD and DVDs. The materials have also been enhanced for strength using the fiber from discarded rice husks. The storage case has also been designed using 100 percent recycled trash materials and can easily be folded up when not in use and later popped back into its original shape.
By combining both post-consumer and agriculture waste, the designers have cleverly been able to create both a durable and eye-catching product, while also reducing society's carbon footprint. Currently the frames are only available in a semi-translucent matte green, but the company soon plans to expand its range of color options in the future.
