Zero Waste Sunglasses
The 3D Printed Sunglasses From w.r.yuma are Made Out of Recycled Materials
Alyson Wyers — July 31, 2017These 3D printed sunglasses are zero waste and made out of 100% recycled materials. Based in Antwerp, Belgium, startup w.r.yuma is currently crowdfunding its "future-proof" sunglasses made out of old plastic soda bottles and recycled car dashboards. The sunglasses can also be recycled after use.
The recycled sunglasses address the issue of plastic waste by turning the accessory into a premium designer product and empowering regular consumers to make a small contribution to a wider environmental problem. The brand's 3D printing process ensures only the exact amount of plastic is used to create the sun-blocking frames. The new venture also encourages customers to return their used 3D printed sunglasses in exchange for a discount on their next pair.
