Recycled Evergreen Cards
Wieden + Kennedy's Recycled Christmas Card Use Last Year's Trees
Laura McQuarrie — December 19, 2014After Christmas last year, Wieden + Kennedy collected evergreens left at the curb in order to create this year's recycled Christmas cards. After gathering up a good amount of the abandoned trees, the agency chipped and pulped them to create A6-sized cards. To convey the meaning behind its cards, the design on the front of the cards shows a triangular tree-like green recycling symbol topped with a star. On the inside, the greeting conveys that the cards are "Sending this year's Christmas wishes on last year's recycled Christmas trees." Additionally, more of the process in creating the cards is explained on the backs of the eco-friendly Christmas cards.
The cards are now available for purchase online and through the agency's offices, with all proceeds from sales going towards Trees for Cities.
