Happy Campers, a producer of organic gluten-free baked goods, has partnered with Verde Bioresins to transition its product packaging to an innovative sustainable material solution. The new packaging utilizes Verde's PolyEarthylene® resins, which is a plant-derived polymer that maintains traditional plastic's functional properties while offering biodegradability in landfill conditions and compatibility with standard LDPE recycling streams. This FDA-compliant material addresses key environmental concerns by avoiding toxic additives like PFAS, BPA, and phthalates.

The collaboration between Happy Campers and Verde Bioresins is said to represent a strategic compromise between ideal composting scenarios and practical waste management realities, as the material degrades under typical landfill microbial activity rather than requiring specialized composting facilities that often reject food-contaminated packaging.
